THE CAUSE:
We are raising money for the Monroe family. When Lauren was killed in an automobile accident November 2013, she left behind her husband, three children and a niece who had become incorporated into their nuclear family. Lauren's youngest child is mentally ill and currently in a group home away from the family. There are extra expenses associated with the youngest child, and the loss of one income is significant. While we can't return wife and mother, we can help with the financial well being of the family.
So whatever your motivation - raising funds for this worthy cause, a new PR, or a walk with friends - please join us in memorializing an amazing woman. Wife, mom, nurse, friend...Lauren did it all with humor and love. Carry her in your heart on this day and we promise it will be lighter!
How does a VIRTUAL race work?
Sign-up for the event, run the race distance, anywhere, anytime on any course you want. You receive a commemorative medal for your race, and the family receives a portion of the proceeds! Although, we list the event date as May 3, you can do your 5k run at any time around the event date! Your medal will be mailed you you after the event date.
