Williams Syndrome

Williams syndrome is a rare disorder in which a portion of DNA material on chromosome 7 is missing the prevalence and the population is approximately 1 out of 50,000 births. Many people with Williams syndrome exhibit autistic behaviors and some are dual diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. However, these individuals differ from typical autistic individuals because of the medical issues related to Williams Syndrome.

Children with Williams Syndrome almost always have cardiovascular abnormalities. Many children require open heart surgery before their first birthday or soon after their initial diagnosis. In many cases, those with Williams syndrome are also diagnosed with other heart and blood vessel problems, hypercalcemia, feeding difficulties, kidney abnormalities, bladder problems,  sensitive hearing, musculoskeletal problems, developmental delays and more

Jacey has been described by William Syndrome experts as being "one of the most complex cases", however, she's fortunately doing very well. Jacey loves music, which is common in children with Williams syndrome. (It is believed that there is a very unique link between music and individuals with Williams syndrome). Jacey loves to sing and dance, she enjoys being outside,  everyone is her friend and she steals the hearts of everyone that knows her.
